MelBen in Stockholm
At the beginning of June, my daughter and I took the MelBen to Stockholm.
We arrived in Kalmar in four days. A SW was blowing constantly and we were able to sail with a gennaker on three of the four days.
That was particularly fun and we were able to use the autopilot to control speeds up to 20 knots. With 21 knots of wind, we decided to take it down,
because the waves behind us were making things a bit choppy on board. At 11.5 knots, we had enough.
In Kalmar, my daughter disembarked. After I had changed the oven and waited for another storm, we continued on to Stockholm alone. Four days later, I arrived there. The nice thing about it is that when a Saare is so well equipped, you can also dock alone with two bow buoys. Now we will spend the summer bobbing around here in the archipelago, every two weeks, in order to sail the MelBen back to Eckernförde in September. Perhaps with a tailwind again.
Fair wind to everyone else, Holger and family.
