  1. Newsletter

Our newsletter is sent using the mail service provider “MailChimp”, a newsletter mailing platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee of compliance with European data protection standards. Mailchimp can use the data of the recipients in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assignment to a user, to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and the presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes. However, Mailchimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them themselves or to pass the data on to third parties.

12.1 Newsletter – measurement of success

The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server when the newsletter is opened or, if we use Mailchimp, from its server. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and the reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP[1] address) or the access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor, if used, that of the shipping service provider to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users. The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form takes place exclusively on the basis of consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). The consent given to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter can be revoked at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in each newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data stored by the and user for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until the user unsubscribes from the newsletter and deleted after the newsletter has been cancelled. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. for placing an order or contacting us by e-mail) remain unaffected.
