Hello from the North,

we are in the middle of the two most labor-intensive months of the year.
All yachts have to be taken out of winter storage, lifted by crane, and made ready to sail. Repair work and many other tasks are taking place in the harbor. A large amount of merchandise is arriving at the big retail store, which needs to be sorted and stocked. Video recordings for YACHT TV with the Saare 38.2 and the 41.2 have been carried out; in Eckernförde and in Estonia, we are handing over sailing yachts to their new, happy owners.
These are all things that bring us great joy, but at the moment they are also pushing us to our limits in terms of time and physically, with a lot of overtime.

Times are difficult, the economy is not gaining momentum, and the global political situation is a catastrophe. Unfortunately, it is very hard to predict how prices will develop.
We are trying to keep prices for Saare yachts as stable as possible for as long as we can. Since we heat our 3,000 sqm shipyard hall in Estonia sustainably with regional wood, we are at least largely decoupled from oil and gas prices when it comes to heating costs. Nevertheless, our costs are also rising. Paints and resins, fiberglass materials, electricity, freight costs, and many supplier parts are now becoming significantly more expensive again than in the past two years. We will probably have to create new price lists soon.

With all these challenges, it is all the more important that each of us creates our own space to relax and recover. Where could that be better than on the water?

Once again, it holds true: after the fair is before the fair.
At the YACHTFESTIVAL, the largest in-water boat show in Northern Europe, we will present two Saare yachts and one VIKNES motor yacht.
We will showcase the beautiful Saare 38.2 and the outstanding Saare 47 in the harbor in Neustadt at Ancora Marina on pier V. You will find us, as in previous years, right at the front left of the sailing yacht pier at berths V 43 and V 41. Niels and Ronja Nielsen will be there to welcome you on board.
For our new representation of Norwegian VIKNES motor yachts, we are bringing a brand-new VIKNES S 35 to Neustadt. Our master boatbuilder Anton Albrecht will be on board; the yacht is located at pier U 18, almost at the very end on the right-hand side. Based on our own experience, we believe that VIKNES motor yachts are also a perfect alternative for sailors when sailing gradually becomes too demanding. We will be happy to advise you.

Saare 38 sails in the Caribbean

After the Saare 38 HAVANNA successfully took part in the ARC regatta across the Atlantic, the Conrad couple have been sailing in the Caribbean since Christmas.
There, they also met the German Saare 41cc Tuuliki.

New Code Zero inspires

During the tests and video recordings with the YACHT team, we sailed the wireless Code sails from Elvström for the first time. These sails were on board both the Saare 41.2 and the brand-new Saare 38.2. Both the YACHT tester and we were absolutely impressed. With this innovative sail, you can sail significantly deeper than with a conventional Code 0, and the sails perform very well.
Thanks to their positive luff curve, they cover a wider range of wind angles and therefore partly belong to the family of asymmetric sails. With these sails, the luff must be tight when furling and slightly eased while sailing.

New Saare dealer in Australia and New Zealand

A few weeks ago, a colleague from Australia contacted us to ask whether he could offer and sell Saare yachts. He represents several premium brands from Northern Europe and wanted to expand his portfolio to include high-quality cruising yachts.
He first shared information about this at the beginning of March at the boat show in Auckland, New Zealand.

Over the past weeks and months, a great deal of work has been carried out in various areas of our harbor. Welding work had to be done on the large fixed pier and the guest pier, as the winter once again took a heavy toll on our harbor facilities.
In the area of the historic wooden sheet piling, the top layer of oak planks was renewed, roof waterproofing was redone, and some roofs were partially re-covered.

We have completely rebuilt the sanitary facilities for harbor users. The old toilets and showers for men and women were completely stripped out and everything was redone. From the screed to the ceiling insulation, everything was renewed. We wanted to design everything in a modern way and—just as has long been common in Scandinavian countries—no longer separate areas for men and women, but instead create unisex spaces. There are now two smaller areas with WC and washbasin, as well as two large family bathrooms with shower, WC, and washbasin, where couples or even entire families can use the facilities together.
In addition, we have installed a large sink in the entrance area, where dishes can be washed, and a washing machine and dryer will also be put into operation shortly.

What still remains is to replace a new glass skylight on the historic store building, and finally, a powerful photovoltaic system is to be installed on the large hall roof.
So there is still quite a bit to do, and we ask all harbor tenants, guests, and shop customers for their understanding if disruptions occur from time to time. Unfortunately, some permits were only obtained very slowly and with considerable effort. In the area of the listed round warehouse and the wooden bridge, these processes are extremely complicated.

Greetings from the North,

We would like to sincerely thank all the visitors and guests who came to our stand at boot 2026. It was almost constantly very busy, and unfortunately the waiting time to view our Saare yachts was often more than an hour.

The level of interest was enormous. Throughout the exhibition, people were speaking about the Saare 38.2 as the best and highest-quality yacht at the show. The Saare 38.2 was simply a must-see.

Many journalists, bloggers and YouTubers also came on board and once again produced numerous very positive reports.

Among them was Marie from Blauwassersegeln. She is now not only a very experienced sailor, but also has an excellent overview of the market and has already inspected and assessed a great many yachts. She has produced a truly worthwhile video feature, and it is clear that she was very impressed with the Saare as well.

A very comprehensive report with excellent photographs has also been written by the blogger from No Frills Sailing. Click on the link to read his report, which also features superb photos of the yacht exhibited at the show.

We were delighted by the tremendous level of interest. The recognition, praise and positive feedback from all sides show that, together with our outstanding craftsmen in Estonia, we have clearly done many things right.

Criticism was expressed, if at all, mainly regarding the price level. However, this was almost always quickly put into perspective when people reflected that comparable yachts are often significantly more expensive. Perhaps our base price may initially seem off-putting, but on closer inspection it quickly becomes clear that a Saare yacht offers far more in terms of material selection, construction methods, build quality and, in particular, its very comprehensive standard specification.

At the show, we were once again able to see that international interest in our yachts has grown substantially. We have also received many enquiries by email. At present, we are in discussions with two American clients who, interestingly, both intend to sail in the Baltic Sea for one or two years and would like to make use of our service offering in Eckernförde.

Winter is always the time for us to renovate our facilities and keep everything in good condition.

Some of the oak planks on the wooden pier in the harbour need to be replaced, but we are still waiting for more settled weather before carrying out that work. Part of the roof also needs to be resealed; unfortunately, that too is not possible at the moment because it is too wet and too cold.

Our largest project — the comprehensive refurbishment of the harbour sanitary facilities — is progressing according to plan. This is the most important, largest and most expensive construction project this winter. Thanks to careful planning and close cooperation with trusted specialist contractors, we expect to complete the work in time for the start of the season and to surprise both our permanent berth holders and visiting sailors with a completely new sanitary block.

We have completely stripped out the ladies’ and gentlemen’s toilets and shower rooms. Everything is being renewed — from the roof insulation and cladding, new screed flooring and new partition walls, to attractive new wall and floor tiles, as well as washbasins, toilets and showers. The entrance door is also being replaced, and in future the water will be heated by high-performance instantaneous water heaters. There will also be a small washing-up area, along with a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Winter greetings from the North,

January is entirely dominated by the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf. The boot is the world’s largest watersports exhibition. International business has also become enormously important for us; in Düsseldorf we meet customers and prospective clients from all over the world, as well as, of course, our owners and many interested visitors from Germany.

We began planning back in the autumn, and now everything has to be implemented perfectly. The Saare 38.2, which we are exhibiting this year, was loaded in Estonia on January 5 and then transported to Düsseldorf by truck.

Our setup team will be in Düsseldorf for several days to build the stand. It is a lot of work until everything is perfectly in place and gleaming at the end.

On Friday, directly before the fair, the entire consulting team will also arrive. Peeter Sääsk is coming from Estonia, Klaus Maurer, an enthusiastic Saare 38.2 owner, from Hamburg. Of course, the entire Nielsen family will also be present at the stand: Ronja (coming from Brittany) as well as Ute, Niels, and Thomas Nielsen from Eckernförde.

In addition, our yacht technician Stephan Peik and our master boatbuilder Anton Albrecht will be in Hall 1, Stand B36, presenting our new representation of Norwegian motor yachts from the Viknes shipyard in Bergen.

As a result, our retail store and office in Eckernförde will be closed from January 11 to January 26. On Sundays and Mondays, we will also remain closed for a few more weeks during the winter season, and we may not always be reachable by phone on those days. From April onward, we will be available for you again seven days a week.

Saare Model Year 2026 – What is new?

It is becoming increasingly difficult to further improve our yachts. Everything is already so good and so well-developed. However, we have still found and optimized a few—admittedly rather small—details.

On the Saare 38.2 and 41.2, the jib sheet is now led invisibly to the winch. This not only looks better, but also creates space for a cleat next to the targa arch for the staysail sheet.
In the saloon, there is a new lighting concept, similar to that on the Saare 47. LED strips elegantly integrated into the ceiling provide even illumination.
Of course, the LED strips are dimmable.
On deck, all of our yachts now use the new 3G material from Flexiteek in a very attractive new color.
The surrounding deck trim is now also made from a single piece using the new Flexiteek material.
There are new colors: you still have free choice of Alcantara material for the saloon upholstery.
A new control panel is installed for the cooler box. It not only displays the temperature but also allows it to be adjusted there.
As standard, we now install the new Alpha Performance displays from Raymarine.
In the future, a remote monitoring system for the onboard electrical system will be installed. This allows the battery charge levels to be checked at any time from anywhere.
Bow and stern thrusters are now equipped with new brushless motors.
A classic half-skeg keel or shaft drive propulsion is now optionally available.

Merry Christmas and warm greetings between the years

As in every year, our Christmas greetings reach you only after the holidays—at a time when the old year is almost over and anticipation for the new year is slowly growing.

Surely we all share similar wishes. More than ever, we wish you—and ourselves—health, and above all, peace.

We are living in turbulent and demanding times. Many things have become unsettled, and some have clearly become more difficult. The year now drawing to a close also confronted us with major challenges. Exactly one year ago, an important shop employee passed away suddenly. In addition to coping with this loss, it was a major task to compensate for his contribution in terms of personnel.

In Eckernförde, we also had to eliminate the remaining damage caused by flooding. At the same time, planning was underway for the new construction of our harbor sanitary facilities, extensive marketing activities, and the renewal of the electrical systems throughout the entire harbor. Toward the end of the season, we were finally able to strengthen our workshop team by adding a master boatbuilder.

All of this was only possible thanks to the truly dedicated commitment of all employees at Yachtsport Eckernförde—and thanks to our understanding, loyal, and satisfied customers. For this, we would like to express our sincere thanks: to all Saare owners, to the sailors in our harbor and winter storage, and to the many customers in our retail shop. We greatly appreciate the friendliness and the consistently pleasant cooperation.

Our Saare shipyard in Estonia continues to be fully booked. For the 2026 model year, we have developed and implemented several innovations—even though, admittedly, improvements to our yachts are becoming increasingly difficult. All the more pleased we are to see other shipyards adopting solutions that we have been implementing for years. In many aspects of quality and equipment, Saare yachts now set the standard.

We fondly remember a wonderful summer, a great Midsummer celebration in Estonia with many Saare sailors, and an exceptionally beautiful journey in the north with our Saare 47

Saare 38 wins ARC

The Saare 38 Havanna achieved an exceptional success in the recently completed ARC Regatta across the Atlantic.

For many years, the Conrad / Oehlert family had planned this great adventure. Back in 2016, they purchased a pre-owned Saare built in 2012 from us. Over the following years, the boat was continuously upgraded and optimized. In 2023, the family took part in the major Saare fleet cruise to Estonia.

This summer, the crew finally set off from Eckernförde on their Atlantic crossing. The Conrad / Oehlert couple started together with their daughter Luca—and reached the Caribbean shortly before Christmas, healthy, happy, and, quite incidentally, also extremely successful.

As one of the smallest yachts in the fleet, the Saare 38 finished 61st out of 102 yachts on elapsed time. On corrected time, the result was even more impressive: 5th place overall—an outstanding achievement of which the entire crew can be very proud.

Dear Saare family and friends,

From the Caribbean, we send you our warmest Christmas greetings and wish you a great start to the new sailing year.

We have just completed a breathtaking journey with our Havanna. On May 18, 2025, we set off from Eckernförde after a wonderful farewell party with fantastic support from the YSE team. Our goal was to cross the Atlantic—our dream of several decades. To make this possible, we bought the Saare 38 and gradually prepared her for the challenge.

On the way to Gran Canaria, we were completely surprised by the stunning sailing grounds; we had always only had the “to-do list” and time schedule in mind. Then, on November 23, 2025, it was time to go—our daughter Luca joined us on board as crew. With the truly superbly organized ARC, we started with 144 boats in eight groups. We were among the 10 smallest yachts.

The first few days we had to find our rhythm. Each of us stood two four-hour watches, a system that worked very well. We were tumbled around in the “washing machine” 24/7, but otherwise we enjoyed the sea and the endless starry sky. After four days, we didn’t see another vessel until shortly before the finish. Our top priority was the safety of the crew. We always wore life jackets and were clipped on from the cockpit.

The next priority was the safety of the boat. Several times we really took off, with Havanna surfing down the waves at times at 14 knots. But as we all know, after the rush comes the break. To protect crew and equipment, we then reefed our trade-wind sails. They proved to be the best choice for the passage. Once the steady trade winds of 12–26 knots set in, the mainsail remained stowed. We weathered several severe squalls. Our Saare 38 Havanna carried us safely and comfortably across the Atlantic, and arriving after 17½ days in Rodney Bay on St. Lucia was indescribable—the rum punch at the welcome was delicious.

We were not racing, yet we finished 6th out of 22 yachts in our group (the small ones) and 61st out of 102 cruisers overall. Also thanks to Luca’s pronounced racing genes, on corrected time we even placed 1st in our group and 5th overall—the icing on the cake.

Now, after the winter solstice, the days are getting longer again and the new season is approaching. By January at the Düsseldorf Boat Show, this will become obvious—and then it won’t be long before the first yachts return to their berths.

Long journeys are being planned, yachts carefully equipped, and prepared for the most important days and weeks of the year. Especially in these not always easy times, we become even more aware of how privileged we are to be able to spend time on the water with our own yacht.

We wish you a happy turn of the year, much optimism, and great anticipation for wonderful sailing experiences in 2026.

Ute and Thomas Nielsen are currently in Estonia on Saaremaa. There are a few tasks to take care of at the shipyard, but otherwise we are enjoying the winter weather, the beautiful landscape, and the peace and quiet of the island.

Niels Nielsen has plenty to do in Eckernförde: Two new employees — a saleswoman for the shop and a master boatbuilder for the workshop — have joined our team and are currently being trained. The construction of the new sanitary facilities in the harbor has begun with the demolition of the old rooms, and planning for a large solar installation is in full swing.
Preparations for the boot 2026 fair in Düsseldorf are also already underway.

A few days ago, we also took over the representation of Viknes motor yachts from Norway. After many years of searching, we have finally found what we were looking for in Bergen: a shipyard that builds high-quality motor yachts that meet our expectations. Highly seaworthy and offering generous space — in our view, the ideal motor yachts for those looking to upgrade.

News from the shipyard

The next Saare 38.2 is now almost finished. The keel was mounted on November 18th. We will be exhibiting this yacht at boot 2026 in January in Düsseldorf.
You will be able to see many new features on this yacht that we are introducing with the 2026 model year. Among other things, we have installed Flexiteek’s new 3G material on deck, which heats up less in the sun and is even easier to keep clean.

In the future, large color Raymarine displays for all relevant data will come as standard in the panel above the companionway.
If you are interested in this yacht, we will be happy to send you the specifications of this show model exclusively in advance.

We have also started building another 38.2; the hull is currently being laminated.

The construction of a Saare 41.2 for a customer from Switzerland is also progressing well. The hull has now been removed from the mold, and the deck has already been fully laminated. The customer will collect this yacht himself from Estonia in May and plans to undertake extensive voyages in the far north to Iceland, Greenland, and Svalbard.

Report: Saare 41cc experienced a severe grounding in Schweden

The owners were sailing their Saare 41 near Smögen in the western Swedish archipelago when the yacht experienced a severe grounding at approximately 6 to 6.5 knots under genoa alone. The yacht came to an abrupt and complete stop. They had not merely hit a submerged rock but had collided head-on with a solid underwater boulder.

The crew immediately checked the bilge and the boat for damage, but there were no structural issues or water ingress. Only afterwards did the crew realize that two of them were in severe pain. In total, the crew suffered three broken ribs and several bruised ribs — fortunately, no one was more seriously injured.

After consulting their insurer by phone, it was agreed that the yacht would be inspected by a surveyor in the next harbor.
The surveyor stepped on board with the words: “You don’t assume you’ll be continuing your holiday, do you?” Based on his long experience and the speed at the time of impact, he expected significant damage.

He examined the yacht and tapped all potential damage areas — and then had to revise his initial assessment, saying: “You have an exceptionally well-built boat.” He reported that he could not find any structural damage, and therefore the holiday could safely continue.

The owners carried on with their cruise, albeit more cautiously due to the rib injuries — but where better to recover than on board?

In the autumn, we hauled the yacht out of the water and inspected it together with another surveyor from Pantaenius Insurance.

It became clear how great an advantage our keel construction offers. Not only had the lead keel deformed significantly at the point of impact, absorbing much of the collision energy, but the “stub keel,” which is part of the hull itself, had distributed the remaining energy widely and effectively into the hull — resulting in no GRP damage whatsoever. The surveyor left the boat saying he had “never seen anything like it — no GRP damage at all at this speed.”

It is also worth noting that the keel had no scratches on the underside. Usually, a boat is pushed upward and then slides over the rock, which is a common damage pattern. In such cases, the forces are lower because not all the kinetic energy is absorbed — the boat remains in motion.
In this case, however, the Saare came to an immediate stop, meaning the entire kinetic energy at roughly 6.5 knots was absorbed in a single moment.

The owners are extremely proud and grateful to have such a well-built yacht. They were able not only to continue their holiday without major repairs but also gained the reassurance that with a different boat, the damage — and the resulting situation — would likely have been dramatically worse.

New in our team

The tasks in the field of yacht service at Yachtsport Eckernförde are becoming increasingly extensive and demanding. We have a wealth of experience and highly skilled staff.
Now, we have succeeded in strengthening our team with a young and very competent employee. The long-experienced workshop crew — Stephan Peik, Dennis Wendler, and Steve Koszuscheck — will now be led by Anton Albrecht, who will provide both administrative and hands-on support.

Anton Albrecht trained as a boatbuilder at a shipyard on the Schlei and graduated as the top of his class. He then attended and successfully completed master school. For several years, he worked as operations manager at a yacht yard with a large winter storage facility on the Schlei, and subsequently managed a shipyard in Lübeck.
Now, the enthusiastic sailor wanted to work closer to his hometown of Schleswig and his sailing grounds on the Schlei.

Greetings from Eckernförde,

After a 12-week voyage, we have returned to Eckernförde with our Saare 47. Without any problems on board and thanks to the excellent technical equipment, this journey across the Baltic Sea was pure enjoyment. The weather was mostly fantastic—up in the far north of Finland, the Åland Islands, and eastern Sweden, we had almost nothing but clear blue skies, often 25 to over 30 degrees, and a wonderful time on board.

Sailors who have never experienced the clear skies and unique light of the north, the peace and seclusion of anchorages and the skerries, the breathtaking sunsets, and more than 20 hours of sunshine have definitely missed out.
Every Baltic sailor should make such a voyage at least once in their lifetime.

News from the shipyard

At the shipyard, work is in full swing on the next Saare Yachts.
Our small yard in Estonia is in a good position. Since we only build a few yachts each year, we are always delighted to find enthusiastic customers who are fulfilling their dream.

For many shipyards—especially the large-scale manufacturers in France and Germany—sales figures are dramatically poor. But even medium-sized yards in Denmark and Sweden are struggling. Business in the U.S. market is no longer viable, large parts of the workforce have had to be laid off, and production is being shifted more and more to low-wage countries for cost reasons.

We are pleased that we can continue to win customers over with our Saare Yachts. With outstanding quality, a high degree of customization, and comprehensive service, we offer unique advantages that our customers truly appreciate.

The next possible delivery date for a Saare Yacht is now at the beginning of 2027. After that, we already have an order for another 38.2.

If you would like to sail your new Saare Yacht in 2027, now is the time to seriously consider it and place your order for your very own Saare—especially since we already have additional orders for 2027.

While almost all used Saare yachts are sold through us—the owners are happy to entrust us with this task and rely on our expertise—Saare yachts are usually sailed by their owners for many years. Once someone has a Saare, they hardly ever part with it.

Used Boats

Saare 47
The Saare 47 is now 1½ seasons old. This yacht can be admired in several test reports and videos. The Saare 47 sails exceptionally well and is equipped with outstanding luxury.
It is a yacht suitable for long-term living and sailing, with all the necessary technical equipment on board.

Dufour 40

We sold this Dufour 40 in 2005. At that time, we were Dufour dealers, and the 40 was the best Dufour of that period. We ourselves sailed our own Dufour 40 very successfully in many regattas over the years.

The offered Dufour 40 is a first-hand yacht, lightly sailed, well maintained (always stored indoors during winter), and received new EPEX sails in 2023.

H-Boat
This brand-new H-Boat was built by Saare Yachts OÜ in Estonia. It has now been measured and is available for sale. The boat can be viewed at any time at our location in Eckernförde.

Stormer 7

The Stormer 7 was built a few years ago by Saare Yachts OÜ.
The boat was stored in our hall in the meantime and was also displayed at two boat shows. Both the boat and its equipment are practically like new.

This elegant small motor yacht made of fiberglass features a traditional clinker-style design. The dark blue hull and flawless teak deck make this yacht a real eye-catcher.

For most of us, the season isn’t over yet. Enjoy the last weeks—the harbors are less crowded, everything is quieter, and the days are slowly getting shorter. Often it’s noticeably cooler, and the evenings on board are cozy, offering peace and relaxation.

Hello from the North,

Midsummer is behind us, and summer is showing all its facets – sometimes sunny and calm, sometimes cool and windy.
The trip to Estonia was full of variety, although the weather around Midsummer was unfortunately rather poor – windy, rainy, and cold.

Now, as we continue our journey northward with the Saare 47, summer has returned.
The crossing from Dirhami in Estonia to Hanko in Finland was fantastic: sailing at 60 degrees to the wind, under blue skies, with 14 to 18 knots of wind, minimal waves, and a beautiful, fast passage brought us to Finland at speeds between 7.9 and 8.5 knots.

There’s a lot to report and – finally – a pre-owned Saare 38 is available again.

Midsummer in Estonia

It was a wonderful celebration in Estonia. Saare sailors from Finland, Germany, and the Netherlands gathered in Koiguste on the island of Saaremaa. Although three participants had to cancel for various reasons, it was still an international gathering, with the two oldest Saare 38 yachts from Finland also in attendance.

The day before, the weather was fantastic, and the sunset was spectacular.
Midsummer, which is celebrated in Estonia on June 23rd, turned out to be cool, changeable, and very windy. For safety reasons, the large bonfire unfortunately had to be cancelled, and a small symbolic fire was lit instead.

The evening at the restaurant JOHN’S PLACE was fantastic. The buffet impressed with a variety of Estonian specialties, there was a wide selection of cold drinks, and a great band managed to get every single guest up and dancing by the end of the night. The atmosphere couldn’t have been better.

Harbor Tip in Estonia

By chance, we discovered a new harbor on our journey north. On the island of Vormsi, in the northern Muhu Sound, about 4 nautical miles west of Haapsalu, we stopped at the newly developed harbor of Sviby.

A dredged channel leads to the harbor; from time to time, the small island ferry arrives, and the harbormaster is quick to help you find a good berth and answer any questions.

Surrounded by beautiful nature, this small harbor offers well-protected berths on floating pontoons with fingers, and for larger yachts, there are also good alongside mooring options.

News from the shipyard

Our team in Estonia is now heading off for their well-deserved three-week summer break.

Not long ago, we handed over a Saare 38.2 to a Dutch owner, and then in early July, another 38.2 went to a sailor from Berlin.
This particular Saare 38.2 was built to very specific requirements and extensively customized. Many details were modified, and at first glance, it’s not immediately recognizable as a Saare. With its blue stripes and no hull windows, the yacht has quite a different look.

After the holiday break, work at the yard will continue on the Saare 38.2 show yacht for the Düsseldorf Boat Show. At the same time, construction of a Saare 41.2 has also begun.

Another team is working intensively on the fit-out of a 14-meter one-off yacht — and there’s still plenty to do there as well.

Hello from the beautiful North,

April and May were very busy months for us. There was a lot going on again. All winter storage boats had to be launched on time and made ready for sailing. Extensive, multi-day tests with British journalists took place. Deliveries and handovers of new and used yachts were scheduled. We had to prepare for participation in the Yacht Festival, transfer the Saare 47 and the 41.2 to Neustadt, and manage the stand there for three days during the show.

We had our hands full, but thanks to a lot of dedication and many overtime hours, we managed to complete everything on time—and even had fun at a beautiful fair.

Things are calming down a bit now. Ute and Thomas Nielsen are en route to Estonia with the Saare 47 to take part in the Saare gathering on Midsummer Night (June 23). After that, they’ll continue north, with their return planned for mid-September. The Saare 47 will then once again be available for viewing in Eckernförde.

Niels Nielsen is also in Estonia for a few days to hand over two new Saare 38.2 yachts.

Ronja Nielsen is holding down the fort in Eckernförde and continues to run the shop with her usual competence.

Midsummer in Estonia

Only a few more days to go until we meet up with other Saare crews in Koiguste on the island of Saaremaa. Participants are coming from Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful celebration under the Nordic sun and wish everyone safe travels!

Yachtfestival in Neustadt

Many thanks to everyone who visited us at the boat show.
The weather was mixed—beautiful on Friday, a bit changeable on Saturday, and mostly very rainy on Sunday.
But that didn’t stop the many visitors from coming to the show in Neustadt to see the wide range of impressive sailing yachts. Nowhere else in Northern Europe can you see so many sailing yachts at one show.

We were there with the Saare 41.2 and, making its world premiere, the Saare 47, and we were delighted by the many visitors—most of whom were very well-informed.

We had time to answer all questions in detail, show every aspect of the boats, and give each guest the opportunity to explore every corner.

Greetings from the North, dear Saare friends,

Spring has already brought many beautiful sailing days for our customers. Of course, it’s still a bit chilly out on the water, but the big advantage is that the harbors have remained relatively empty, offering the best berths everywhere.

The Saare 38.2 MICHEL, which was the first Saare yacht to set sail for our Midsummer Night gathering on May 1st in Eckernförde, also enjoyed great conditions and has now arrived in Kuressaare after 11 days. The very first leg of the journey took just 22 hours from Eckernförde to Ystad, Sweden.

The Saare 38 HAVANNA has now embarked on a long Atlantic voyage. The couple aboard plans to sail through the North Sea and English Channel to Brittany, then follow the French Atlantic coast down to Spain and Portugal, before making their way to the Azores. From there, they plan to join the ARC Rally in November and cross the big pond.

A Saare 41ac owned by a Swiss sailor has also just left Eckernförde and is planning to spend the coming years sailing in the Mediterranean.

Midsummer Festival in Estonia

Our Saare 47 is currently spending a few days at Ancora Marina in Neustadt, before we set off from there on our summer cruise north.

Our first destination is Estonia, where we’ll head to the Gulf of Riga to celebrate Midsummer on June 23rd together with other Saare crews.

We’re looking forward to the gathering and to a wonderful cruise under the Nordic sun, with long days and bright nights.

Kuressaare is the port in Estonia where we deliver new Saare yachts. Many customers take advantage of this special opportunity and begin a wonderful Baltic cruise from there, heading into the far North.

With the launch of the new 2026 model year, we will be introducing a long list of innovations, technical and visual upgrades, and further enhancements to the standard equipment on our Saare yachts.

The Flexiteek decking will now be fitted in the new “Bleached” color and upgraded to the latest 3G version. The saloon lighting will be redesigned in line with the concept used on the Saare 47, and all models will now include LED floor lighting, offering both daytime illumination and red nightlight functionality.

To improve storage even further across all models, we will now include bilge compartment dividers in the large stowage areas as standard. The storage shelves with practical Euroboxes in the Saare 38.2 and 41.2 are also now part of the standard configuration.

We are also equipping all models with new, larger Raymarine displays – offering better readability, full color, and more functionality. The wind measurement system is now also included as standard.

While other boatbuilders are cutting corners, reducing standards, and abandoning time-tested quality features, Saare Yachts are becoming even better.

The past few weeks have been mostly sunny and beautiful here in the North. That has helped us to get all the yachts into the water on time and prepare them for the season for our customers.

It is always a very special joy for everyone to come to Eckernförde for the first time in the new season and step on board.

Several owners have planned long journeys—some Saare yachts will be sailing north to Estonia and Finland this summer. The Saare 38.2 MICHEL will set off already at the beginning of May and sail to Kuressaare. Many Saare crews will meet on June 23rd for the big Midsummer celebration in Koiguste on the island of Saaremaa. We also plan to sail there with our Saare 47 and then continue further north to the Höga Kusten (High Coast) in Sweden.

Test of the Saare 41.2 and Saare 47

At the beginning of April, journalists and photographers from Great Britain spent several days in Eckernförde to thoroughly test our Saare 41.2 and the world premiere of the Saare 47.

Over the course of several days, both yachts were sailed extensively, photographed at sea and in the harbor, and filmed. A wide range of data was collected, and both Saare yachts were carefully inspected in every detail.

The technically insightful and comprehensive test reports will be published in the coming months in Yachting Monthly, Yachting World, and Sailing Today.

Delivery dates new Saare Yachts

Recently, we’ve noticed that our yachts are being ordered further in advance. It is no longer unusual for customers to place orders two or three years ahead. These customers know exactly what they want and want to be absolutely certain of securing a build slot at our shipyard for their desired delivery date.
At our shipyard, Saare Yachts OÜ in Estonia, we can only build about 4 to 5 yachts per year. We do this with perfect craftsmanship. Our yachts are built to individual specifications, always tailored to the customer’s wishes and the area where they plan to sail.
Even though we have already sold Saare yachts with delivery dates for 2027, this doesn’t mean we won’t be able to offer available build slots for earlier dates in 2026 and 2027. We can still deliver for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Innovative Yacht Electronics on Board of a Saare

Used boats

On behalf of a client, we are offering a very well-maintained Dehler 39sq for sale.
The Dehler 39sq comes from the successful Judel/Vrolijk design series (29, 36, and 39). It is fast, safe, elegant, and built to a high and solid standard.
We originally took this second-hand yacht in as a trade-in a few years ago, when the owner purchased a Saare 41 from us. Unfortunately, the yacht now has to be sold again.
The boat can be viewed in our winter storage hall in Eckernförde.

From the shipyard

The second Saare 38.2 of the current production series has now also been handed over to its owner right on schedule. The yacht is still in our shipyard hall, and it won’t be launched and rigged until June.
The owner plans to enjoy the summer up north with his family, spending several weeks sailing in Estonia and Finland.
Whether the yacht will return to our shipyard hall for the winter and remain there until it is sailed to Germany in 2026 is still undecided.

Saare 38.2

We’ve now started building our exhibition yacht for the 2025 Düsseldorf Boat Show.
This Saare 38.2 will feature some exciting innovations. While there’s not much that can be improved on this already outstanding yacht, we do have a few new ideas in mind.

As with previous models, we will install a 24-volt system and plan to cook electrically on board. Most likely, this yacht will be equipped with large solar panels permanently bonded to the coachroof. We’ll also be using the new Flexiteek 3G decking in a fresh color, and there will be improvements to the Raymarine navigation electronics as well.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful season ahead.
